It was hearts and frowns Tuesday night at Polar Park.

Well, not really, as the Futures Collegiate Baseball League was as usual a festive occasion, with an appearance by former Red Sox star Johnny Damon.

But the game was pretty one sided as Team Hearts crushed Team Smiles, 14-2.

Unfortunately, Nashua Silver Knights pitcher Andrew Chenevert, who just saw his 10-game win streak snapped, suffered the loss. Chenevert started on the mound for Team Smiles but was touched up for three runs on three hits in the first inning, his only inning of work.

There was nothing else notable as far as Silver Knights players are concerned, except teammates Joe Zorc and Nashua’s Hunter Ward faced each other, with Zorc grounding out as a pinch-hitter. Ward pitched a scoreless inning for Team Smiles, as did Silver Knight Rob Gilchrist for Team Hearts.

Patrick Shrake (0 for 2, one strikeout) and Cole Patterson (0 for 1) played for Team Smiles, Shrake at shortstop and Patterson in center. Silver Knight Joey Current saw time behind the plate for Team Hearts, but went 0 for 1 with a strikeout in his only plate appearance.

The stars of the game? Offensively, Worcester’s Will Kraemer went 3 for 4 with two doubles and five RBIs for Team Hearts, while Silver Knight nemesis Shaun McMillan was a single shy of the cycle, with double, triple, home run and three RBIs, plus two runs scored.
