Justin Deflumeri is heading home, hopefully in record fashion.
Deflumeri, the Nashuan who is running from Pittsburg to Nashua and hoping to do it in five days to raise money for the Abbott Foundation, has one more day to go.
Deflumeri recorded 41 miles on the first day, then 45 Thursday, 47 miles on Friday and on Saturday he got about 40 as he reached a total of over 165 miles.
To set the record, he needs to arrive in Nashua by the end of Sunday. Two ohers have run the state but took eight days. DeFlumeri wants to be the record holder, but he’ll face 90 degree heat according to the forecast.
“Hoping to break it tomorrow,” he texted late Saturday, referring to today.
