Rivier Roundup: Men’s volleyball in semis; baseball wins
NASHUA — There’s a lot more volleyball left in the Rivier University men’s team.
A season they won’t forget for many reasons is extended thanks to their 3-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference win over Emerson on Tuesday night at the Muldoon Center.
The No. 3 Raiders enjoyed a 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 sweep in what is likely their final home match of the season. They’ll take on No. 2 Lasell on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the GNAC semis. The finals are on Saturday.
Ly Sokunbuth led the way for Rivier with 15 kills while Matt McCloskey added 11. Ryan Peace had eight kills and five digs while Neil Rea had 40 assists.
Rivier is 9-3 since the school’s controversial firing of Hall of Fame coach Craig Kolek.
