Williams gets career high 20 to lead Wildcats to win

PHILADDELPHIA, Pa. - The University of New Hampshire Wildcats secured a victory over the Wagner Seahawks on day two of the Hawk Classic tournament hosted by St. Joseph’s. Sophomore guard Breezie Williams scored a career-high 20 points in the game.

The Wildcats’ record improves to 6-7 (0-0-AE) and Wagner’s falls to 2-9 (0-0 Northeast Conference).

Wagner scored the opening basket of the game.

The Wildcats then went on an 11-1 run scoring three back-to-back three-pointers in the process. The opening quarter ended with the ‘Cats having a two-point lead.

In the second quarter, senior guard Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.) scored the opening points of the quarter for the Wildcats.

Williams scored her first points of the game with a three-pointer, extending the ‘Cats lead to nine.

Williams scored 14 points in the quarter as the Wildcats had their biggest lead of the game with 22 points.

The Seahawks attempted to battle back in the game, closing the lead to 14 in the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats with the help of Williams held out once again extending the lead to 22 points and winning game two of the Hawk Classic,

In addition to her 20 points, Williams also had five assists and three rebounds. Fellow Wildcat Belen Morales Lopez (Alicante, Spain) also had a career-high 16 points along with seven rebounds and one assist.
