NASHUA – Circle Saturday, May 27 on your calendars, Nashua Silver Knights fans.

That will be the team’s 2023 home opener at Holman Stadium, when there will likely be a championship ring ceremony prior to the scheduled 6 p.m. game vs. the Worcester Bravehearts.

The Futures Collegiate League season will open up on Wednesday, May 24, and the Knights will be on the road the first three games, opening up that night at Pittsfield at 6:35 p.m. They then will play at Brockton on Thursday, May 25, at Worcester on Friday, May 26, then be welcomed home on that Saturday. This is the first scheduled Saturday home opener since the league and team’s inaugural season of 2011. There was one year when the scheduled Friday home opener was rained out and the team had to open on a Saturday.

The FCBL will have a 64-game schedule, same as a year ago, and end its regular season on Sunday, Aug. 6. Nashua will be home that day vs. Vermont at 3 p.m.

The playoffs as of now will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Silver Knight game times will be generally the same as a year ago, as they will start weeknight and Saturday games at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 3.

The annual Education Day game, that has area schools attend, will be on May 31 at 10:30 a.m. Last year’s Education Day matinee drew over 3,000 fans.

The Knights will be home for the second straight year on July 4. It will feature the team Nashua defeated in a thrilling championship series, the Vermont Lake Monsters. Game time is 11 a.m.

Nashua was home on Memorial Day last year, but that will not be the case this 2023 season. Nashua instead will be at Brockton for a 6:30 p.m. game on Monday, May 29.

There is only one other Monday the Knights have a scheduled game is June 12 vs. Worcester. With the same eight teams returning, Mondays will be traditional off days. The All-Star game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, location to be announced, and is part of a three day break with games resuming Thursday, July 27 (Nashua is at Worcester).

Once again, Nashua has the majority of its home schedule in late May and all of June, 19 of its 32 dates. They will have six Friday night Fireworks nights, three in June, two in July, and one in August. There are five Sunday games at Holman, five Saturdays, and five Thursdays.

Nashua’s longest consecutive home game stretch is five games, beginning Sunday, June18 through Friday, June 23, with that Monday off.

The Silver Knights’ longest stretch on the road is six games, beginning Thursday, July 13 through Wednesday, July 19 with, again, that Monday July 17 off.

Nashua’s rivalry with Vermont will likely reach another level with 11 games between the two this season, five at Holman and six in Burlington. Vermont is not at Holman for any consecutive dates, but the Silver Knights will be in Vermont for three straight games, July 29, 30 and Aug. 1, with July 31 being an off day.
