Raiders fall behind early, fall to Framingham State, 79-57

NASHUA — The Rivier University women’s basketball was defeated by Framingham State University in non-conference action in the Muldoon Center Thursday night, 79-57.
The 5-1 Rams built up a 26-14 lead in the first quarter as the Raiders (3-5) tried to find their offensive flow. Manchester’s Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) contributed 11 first-half points and an assist as they closed out the second quarter down thirteen.
The second half saw a dramatic decrease in offensive firepower from both sides. Nashua’s Hannah Muchemore and Anna Stenger of Weare each added 13 points of their own. Muchemore stuffed the stat sheet with seven assists, five rebounds, and five steals in addition to her 13 points.
The Rams were led by Katty Haidul, who poured in 29 points and 17 rebounds, and Abigail Martin, who also logged a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Rivier was really hurt on the boards, as FSU outrebounded the Raiders by a 65-20 margin.
Rivier will be back in action this Saturday against Dean College at 1 pm.
