FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Matt Judon wasn’t aware that the New England Patriots defense leads the NFL in several statistical categories.

But he is now.

New England raised the bar even higher by holding the New York Jets to just 103 total yards – two in the second half – in Sunday’s dramatic 10-3 win at Gillette Stadium.

“I think in some games we’re resilient,” said Judon, who had two sacks giving him 13.5 for the season, third best in Patriots history. “We’ll have some games that it looks like we’re all traffic cones, and we have some games that we didn’t play well.

“But over the last few weeks, we’ve been coming to work, we’ve been talking, we’ve been communicating, and we’ve jut been jelling. We’re in a groove right now, but we have to force that.”

They forced the Jets into near zero yards in the second half.

“Complete domination,” Patriot defensive end Deitrich Wise, Jr. said. “That’s kind of what we wanted to establish that this game. We left some plays out there on the field the last time we played them.

“Coming off the bye, we knew what we were going to get and going to this game … We wanted to stop the run and affect the pass and I believe we did that.”

“It was just a weird game out there today,” Jets tight end Tyler Conklin said. “It seemed like we couldn’t get anything going. The running game, the passing game …We all had plays we could have made and should have done better, but we didn’t.”

Kyle Dugger, who had a sack, says the defense’s confidence is definitely rising.

“It’s definitely great to be able really, really have an effect on the game defensively,” he said. “We always do, but when the offense is out of the picture in a sense it definitely feels good.”

INACTIVES

Out for the Patriots were free safety Joshua Bledsoe, running back J.J. Taylor, defensive tackle Sam Roberts, running back Kevin Harris, and corner Shaun Wade.

BROWN BENCHED

Patriot left tackle Trent Brown, who has been the starter at the position, was on the sidelines for much of the contest, apparently benched for Isaiah Wynn. But Wynn got hurt and Brown played most of the second half.

“Yeah, it was a coaching decision,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said.

QUICK TURNAROUND

The Patriots now have to prepare quickly for the Minnesota Vikings, who were thrashed by the Dallas Cowboys yesterday, whom they face on Thanksgiving night.

“Yeah, you have just got to realie that tonight is Wednesday, it’s Wednesday already,” Patriots safety Devin McCourty said. “Whatever you would normallydo, you can’t do after a game. You want tohang out, you want to stay up, we can’t. We have to reset and realize this is Wednesday. I am going to try and get ahead and watch come film tonight.”

NOTES

The Patriots lost center David Andrews, who had just come back from a concussion, to a thigh injury. Andrews had to be helped off the field….

Believe it or not, the Patriots’ 14-game winning streak over the Jets is not their longest over an opponent. They beat the Buffalo Bills 15 straight from 2003 to 2010…

Sunday was New England’s first win without an offensive touchdown since beating Miami 12-0 on Dec. 7, 2003, when they scored on a field goal, a 5-yard Tedy Bruschi interception return for a TD and a safety…
