Brosmer connected with Adam Deese (Belmont, Mass.) for a 19-yard gain that set up 1st-and-goal at the URI 6. Rhode Island’s defense stiffened, however, and Mazzie’s third field goal of the game – this time from 22 yards – gave UNH its first lead of the game, 24-21, at 10:46.
Hill led a 10-play, 68-yard TD drive capped by a 15-yard TD to Lee that put URI back in front, 28-24, at 7:07. The Rams converted all three third downs on the drive, including 3rd-and-goal for the touchdown.
