PAXTON, Mass. — The Rivier University women’s volleyball team defeated Anna Maria College 3-1 (25-12, 21-25, 25-11, 25-12) to remain unbeaten in conference play on Thursday night at the Fuller Center.

The Raiders (8-0 GNAC, 19-4 overall) took the first set from the hosting school after getting 12 kills to two. The second set was the Raiders best offensive output with 14 kills, but with nine errors and numerous reception errors, the AMCATS (3-15, 0-8 GNAC) were able to steal a set. The third and fourth sets were close to the first, with Rivier playing well on both offense and defense.

Sydney Racevicius had another impressive game after tallying 18 kills along with 15 digs and a match-high eight aces. Litchfield’s Olivia Garand, a Campbell alum, moved into the Libero spot for this one and racked up 19 digs. Avery Pollard (Ballston Lake, NY) dished out 39 assists along with seven digs.

The AMCATS only tallied 17 kills but managed to put together impressive digs throughout the contest to keep rallies alive. Ryann Hassett finished with a team-high eight kills. Serena Dennis racked up a team-high 14 digs, with Sarah Burt just behind her with 13.

The Raiders will be back this weekend with a tri-match with St. Joe’s of Maine at 11 a.m. and Saint Joseph’s (Conn.) at 1 p.m.
