NASHUA — The Legends were indeed Lions.

The Nashua Lions Club on Monday evening, as part of the city’s July 4 celebration, inducted three prominent figures from the city’s sports history into the Holman Stadium Sports Legends Hall of Fame.

All three got incredible things done for the teams and athletes who played at Holman Stadium over its rich history. Inducted were the late Larry Elliott, dubbed “The Father of Bishop Guertin Athletics”, late former Nashua Parks-Recreation Director Noel Trottier, and former longtime Nashua athletic director Al Harrington.

Trottier was in his position serving the city for over 25 years, and on hand were his son Mark and daughters Kathy Roy and Susan Lavoice. Harrington, who followed legend Buzz Harvey and reshaped the athletic department during his three decades of service, was accompanied by his daughter, Christine.

Accepting the award for Elliott, who was a huge benefactor not only for BG athletics but for the Pop Warner football and other youth programs (such as baseball) in the city, was his son, Dave.

The names of all three will be on the huge plaque that includes all the previous Legends of Holman at the entrance to the stadium.

They are forever part of Holman history.
