NASHUA — It was two thumbs up for the Rivier University softball team, but unfortunately two thumbs down for the Raider baseball squad.

Raiders softball recorded a sweep at home over Fisher, but baseball dropped two on the road.

In softball, River rolled, 10-0 and 20-6. In the opener, The Raiders had their biggest inning in the bottom of the first after putting up seven runs. Londonderry’s Sarah Frazier and Kayla Miles, plus and Kylie Poisson (Lynn, Mass.) produced six of the Raiders runs, with each tallying two RBIs. Frazier continues to rake at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3. Poisson was also perfect, picking up two hits in two at bats.

Courtney Marioles was the winning pitcher after allowing just three hits in five innings and striking out 10.

Fisher’s Madison Kelley, Shaniah Hazard, and Letty Chavez-Rendon each had one hit each.

In Game 2 at Raider Field, after a three-run homerun to start the top of the first by Hazard, the Raiders would work their way back with a four-run second inning and capped off the lopsided victory with a 13-run bottom of the fourth.

Pitcher Emma Langer helped herself out with a team high three runs batted in. In the circle, she picked up her second win of the season after the five innings allowing just four hits, three earned runs and striking out five.

Miles and Poisson had another solid game at the plate picking up two more hits, along with another pair of RBIs.

Rivier will be back in action Saturday at Elms College for a 1 and 3 p.m. doubleheader.
