Slow start, errors hurt Rivier nine in 12-6 loss to MCLA
NASHUA — The Rivier University baseball team gave up five runs in the first inning at Holman Stadium Tuesday night and couldn’t recover, bowing 12-6 to MCLA.
The Raiders committed five errors en route to four unearned runs. Patrick Young (0-1) took the loss on the mound, giving up seven runs (six earned) on six hits over four innings.
The 9-13 Trailblazers outhit the Raiders 13-8. Rivier fell to 1-20 on the season.
Jacob Boudreau led Rivier offensively, going 3 for 3, scoring three runs and reaching base five times. Frank Gulezian had a double and three RBIs while Kevin Collins had a hit and an RBI.
Rivier will make up last Saturday’s rained out doubleheader at Albertus Magnus on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m.
