NASHUA — The Rivier men’s lacrosse team took down Regis College 14-1 on Wednesday night at Merrill Field in conference action, led by Connor Eck’s four goals.
The Raiders (6-2, 2-1 GNAC) quickly got the scoring started 42 seconds into the game when Michael Ference ripped a shot past the Prides goalie. Two minutes later, Jeffery Potter would go one on one with a Regis defender and beat him to the crease to put Rivier up 2-0.
The Pride (2-6, 0-3 GNAC) would net their only goal at the 7:21 mark of the first quarter on a quick transition move by Connor Deveau. The quarter would wrap up with a second Ference score and Eck’s first of his four tallies.
Rivier would tack on five more in the second to give them the 9-1 advantage going into the break. Nashua’s Chris Heitmiller would start it off on a man-up opportunity. Eck, Coby Mercier and Ference would follow. The last goal of the quarter would come from Nicholas Tavares.
The last of Rivier’s goals came in the third quarter to push their lead to 14-1. The quarter opened with two quick man-up goals, first from Eck and the second from Potter. Eck would score another shortly after to get to his four goals on the day. Trevor Reilly and Connor McGuire would net the last two goals of the day.
