Raider women win round one vs. Colby Sawyer, 75-56

NEW LONDON — The Rivier women’s basketball team picked up its fourth GNAC victory Monday night by beating Colby-Sawyer in a one-sided 75-56 contest.
The Raiders took only a six-point lead into the half at 29-23. The second half saw Rivier (8-11, 4-7 GNAC) explode for 27 points in the third quarter alone. The Raiders saw their biggest lead of 26 points in the fourth quarter at the 4:42 mark.
Lyric Grumblatt of Manchester and Alexa Dufries (Leicester, Mass.) led the way for the Raiders. Grumblatt dropped 19 points with eight rebounds and five assists. Dufries had 17 points and two rebounds.
The Chargers Courtney Brewster led her team with 13 points from the bench.
Rivier women’s basketball will be back Wednesday against Colby-Sawyer (2-14, 2-8 GNAC) again in the Muldoon at 8 p.m. And now, fans may attend as long as they are masked.
