PLYMOUTH– Plymouth State University wrestling alumnus Dan Moskowitz ’05
of Amherst will be honored with induction into the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Hall of Fame at the organization’s annual Dual Meet Championships this Sunday (Jan. 23) at the Wildcat Center on the campus of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I.
Moskowitz is remembered as one of Plymouth State’s most decorated wrestlers. Competing for the Panthers from 2001-05, Moskowitz was a two-time NCAA qualifier after capturing New England championships in both 2002-03 and 2003-04, both at the 149-pound weight class. He was the New England runner up at 157 pounds as a senior (2004-05) and a third-place finisher at 165 pounds during his rookie campaign (2001-02).
Boasting a career record of 97-41, including 31 career pins, the four-year starter is one of 13 Plymouth State wrestlers to earn All-New England honors all four years. He helped lead the Panthers to a third-place finish in the Dual Championships in 2002 and a third place showing at the NEWA Tournament Championships (now the NCAA Division III New England Championships) in 2003. He becomes Plymouth State’s seventh member of the NEWA Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place at 5 p.m., prior to the championship and consolation finals of the Dual Meet Championships, an annual meet that brings 16 New England wrestling programs together to compete for regional bragging rights.
