Raider men’s hockey falls to Castleton in holiday tourney

RUTLAND, Vt. — The Rivier University men’s hockey team fell Friday night to Castleton University in Game 1 of the Terry Moran Invitational, 7-2.

The Raiders (3-4-1) found themselves down 7-0 going into the third period. The 2-6-1 Spartans had seven players score this evening, with four coming in the first and three in the second period.

The Raiders were able to get on the board in the third period nine minutes in. Milan Breczko (Klasterec, CZR) netted his team’s high fifth goal on the season.

Raffael Pohlin (Brunec, Italy) scored Rivier’s second goal at the 19-minute mark in the third period on the power play to get the final of 7-2.

Rivier will be play Arcadia this afternoon for third-place in the two-day tourney.
