NASHUA — The Rivier University field hockey team defeated the Bulldogs of Dean College Saturday night, 7-0, to improve to 6-4 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (7-7 overall).

The Raiders had a big first quarter, where they scored four of the seven goals, with two more coming in the third and one in the fourth quarter.

Six different Rivier athletes found the back of the net this evening. Leading the way with two goals was Madison Streeter (Westminster, Vt). Hunter Langley (Londonderry), Abby Nadeau (Newbury), Kayla Miles (Londonderry), and Maegan Sheehy all scored.

How dominant were the Raiders? They outshot Dean, 24-0.

The win highlighted a busy day for Raider athletics:

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

RAIDERS TOP COLBY (3-0) AND CLARK (3-2)

Match one vs. Colby (25-21, 25-16, 26-24) was not a clean one for either side of the court, with 43 combined errors between the two teams.

However, Rivier (16-5 overall) was able to get the job done in just three sets behind middle hitter Lily Sills (Carlisle, Mass.), who had a match high 13 kills and four blocks. Avery Pollard (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) finished well in all categories leading the defense with 16 digs, five kills, 27 assists, and three blocks.

The rough play continued again for both teams in match two (18-25, 25-16, 25-10, 25-12, 15-9) as they combined for 54 errors this time. The Cougars opened the match on a 2-0 run before the Raiders turned it on, dominating the remaining three sets. Clark was unable to record a kill in the entire third set and only six combined between the fourth and fifth sets.

Sydney Racevicius (Woodbury, Conn.) led the offense in game two along with Pollard. Racevicius ended with the match high in kills with 11 while also leading the Raider defense in digs with 20. Pollard posted a nine kill game with 35 assists and eight digs.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

RIVIER 1, REGIS 1

Sara Costa struck first for the Pride just 13:33 into the contest on a cross from teammate Payton Bridge at Joanne Merrill Field.

The Raiders would tie it up at the very end of the first half on a tremendous running goal by freshmen Kaylee Magoon of Loudon, who came streaking down the left side of the 18 and placed the ball perfectly in the top right corner.

The Raiders are now 2-12-3 overall, 0-9-3 GNAC.

Milford’s Avery Martin was one of four seniors honored on Senior Day.

MEN’S SOCCER

RIVIER 1, REGIS 1

The Raiders (3-11-1, 1-9-1 GNAC) got on the board first just before the half on a penalty kick that was drawn by Walaeddine Hounane (Salem, Mass.). Hounane took the PK and placed a chip shot perfectly away from the diving Pride keeper to the top right corner.

Regis would, however, come back to tie it in the 67th minute at 1-1 on a beautiful crossbody shot that was on a line to the top left corner from just inside the 18 on the right side. Jacob Freitas was responsible for the game equalizing score.

Milford’s Mike Federico was one of two soccer seniors honored, as well as Litchfield’s Samantha Molinari for cross country.
