QUINCY, Mass. — The good news was the Rivier University women’s soccer team played its first game in two years on Wednesday.

The bad? The Raiders fell 1-0 to Eastern Nazarene in their 2021 season opener, a non-conference game.

The game’s only score came off the foot of the Lions’ Beatriz De Oliveira Segato, assisted by Diamond Best at 42:18.

For the Raiders, Kaylee Magoon had a team high six shots on the night, with two on net, but came up empty. Riv netminder Emily Mikelson of Concord made her collegiate debut, stopping seven of eight shots.

Rivir returns to action this Friday for its home opener at Joanne Merrill Field vs. GNAC newcomer Elms College at 4 p.m.
