Johnston pitches well but Fisher Cats fall to Patriots 6-1

By Fisher Cats Media Relations - | May 14, 2021

MANCHESTER – Kyle Johnston held the Somerset Patriots scoreless through five impressive innings (4 H, 3 BB, 2 K), but the New Hampshire Fisher Cats took a 6-1 loss to snap a two-game winning streak on Thursday night at Delta Dental Stadium.

Otto Lopez doubled home a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to break up the shutout, but the Fisher Cats couldn’t match Somerset’s offense, which used a Thomas Milone home run and a Michael Beltre RBI triple to plate the decisive runs.

The Patriots added four runs in the top of the eighth inning with the help of three hits, a walk, a hit batter, and four wild pitches.

Lopez and Vinny Capra each collected two hits for New Hampshire.

The Fisher Cats and Patriots meet in the fourth game of the series tonight at 6:35 for First Responders Night.

New Hampshire’s opening homestand with Somerset will be followed by a six-game series next week against the Portland Sea Dogs from May 18-23.
