Lui’s work on beam sets UNH gymnasts’ tone at Regionals

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Hailey Lui (Collegeville, Pa.) tied for first place on balance beam to highlight four University of New Hampshire gymnasts competing as event specialists at the NCAA Division I Gymnastics Morgantown Regional Second Round meet on Friday night at WVU Coliseum.
Lui’s 9.875 equaled UCLA’s Norah Flatley for the highest score of the night session.
Sophomore Robyn Kelley (Wakefield, Mass.) scored a 9.775 on beam (T-12th) to go along with her floor exercise score of 9.725 (24th).
Sophomore Kylie Gorgenyi (North Reading, Mass.) scored a 9.600 on vault (27th) and a 9.225 on uneven bars (28th).
Sophomore Alyssa Worthington (West Warwick, R.I.) tallied a 9.425 on beam (22nd).
No. 4 Michigan scored a 197.650 and No. 13 UCLA registered a 197.050 to each advance to Saturday’s NCAA Regional Final with No. 5 California (197.725) and Ohio State (196.525), the 1-2 finishers in Friday’s afternoon session.
