River Hawks top UNH in women’s lacrosse, 16-14

LOWELL, Mass. — Junior midfielder Delaney Pratt (Lafayette, Colo.) scored a career-high four goals, but the University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team was edged 16-14 by UMass Lowell at Cushing Field Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Graduate student Rylee Leonard (Coventry, R.I.), sophomore Liv Dunn (Newbury, Mass.) and senior Elizabeth Blanding (Pittsford, N.Y.) had three points each; Leonard and Dunn both tallied three goals, while Blanding scored twice and was the only Wildcat credited with an assist.

Junior Emily Curtis (Walpole, Mass.) and freshman Kailee Woods both contributed one goal. Junior goalkeeper Issy Torres (Elmhurst, Ill.) had nine saves.

Molly Shaw and Izzy Liquori were the top goal scorers for UMass Lowell as Shaw scored six and Liquori had five; both had one assist. Megan Brockbank matched Shaw’s seven points with a goal and six assists. Goalkeeper Madison Grazidei had 10 saves and allowed 12 goals in 55:32 of relief action to get the win. Mackenzie Brown started and allowed two goals without a save when she exited 4:28 into the game.

UNH drops to 2-4 on the season and 1-3 in America East, and is scheduled to return to play April 3 in an America East matchup against the 1-3 Binghamton University Bearcats at Wildcat Stadium.
