UNH men’s hoop will host America East playoff pod

DURHAM – The University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team will host one of two playoff pods in the 2021 Hercules Tires America East Men’s Basketball Playoffs this coming weekend at Lundholm Gymnasium.

UNH finished the season in third place in the America East standings with a 9-6 record.

In the first game of the New Hampshire pod, No. 6 seed UMass Lowell will face No. 7 Stony Brook on Saturday, February 27 at 1 p.m. The winner of that game will face the Wildcats on Sunday, February 28 at 1 p.m. in the America East quarterfinal. Both games will be televised live on ESPN3 or ESPN+.

In the other America East playoff pod at Hartford, the No. 4 seeded Hawks play No. 9 Binghamton on Saturday at 2 p.m. and No. 5 UAlbany plays No. 8 NJIT at 5 p.m.

The advancing teams from the two pods will then be reseeded for the America East semifinal round on Saturday, March 6 with No. 1 seed UMBC and No. 2 Vermont getting byes and hosting the semifinal matchup on their respective campuses.

The America East championship game will be played on Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. on the campus of the higher seed on ESPN2.
