PLYMOUTH – Plymouth State University field hockey alumna Lilly Silva (2006) was announced as one of 12 individual selections for the 2020 class of the Little East Conference Hall of Fame, the league recently announced.

The conference’s seventh class includes 11 former student-athletes, one former head coach and the league’s first-ever team selection. Induction ceremonies will take place on each inductee’s respective campus during the 2020-21 academic year.

First established in 2012, the LEC Hall of Fame now includes 81 individuals and one team. The 2020 Hall of Fame class includes:

• Lilly Silva (Plymouth State) – Field Hockey.

• Scott Chiasson (E. Connecticut) – Baseball.

• Marc DiGiovanni (Eastern Connecticut) – Men’s Lacrosse.

• Brittany O’Bryant (Keene State) – Women’s Volleyball.

• Cassy Haneman (UMass Boston) – Women’s Volleyball.

• Robin (Dziedzic) Drew (UMass Dartmouth) – Field Hockey.

• Bruce Wheeler (UMass Dartmouth) – Baseball Coach.

• Bobby Bailey (Rhode Island College) – Men’s Basketball.

• Rachel Riley-Schafer (Rhode Island College) – Women’s Basketball.

• Allison Gagnon Gray (Southern Maine) – Women’s Basketball.

• Mike McCullum (Southern Maine) – Baseball.

• Carl Rivers (Western Connecticut) – Baseball.

• 1997 Southern Maine Baseball Team.

Silva was one of the most prolific scorers in Plymouth State field hockey history, helping guide the Panthers to a pair of Little East Conference regular season titles and the 2002 LEC tournament championship. She led PSU to the postseason in each of her four seasons, making one trip to the NCAA tournament while qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament on three occasions.

A three-time All-LEC First Team honoree, Silva graduated with program bests of 66 career goals and 155 career points – marks that still stand today.

As a freshman, Silva helped Plymouth State to a perfect 10-0 league mark and a third straight LEC Tournament Championship, as well as a second-round appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Panthers were back in the LEC tournament finals during her junior campaign and claimed a share of the conference regular season title her senior season.

Silva’s most impressive season came as a junior in 2004 when she notched 27 goals and 58 points – both the second highest season totals in program history – while helping the Panthers to a program-best 18-4 record. She provided the entirety of Plymouth State’s offense in the ECAC New England Tournament Championship, scoring three times as the Panthers outlasted Wellesley College, 3-2, in overtime to capture the program’s second ECAC title.
