Amherst, Merrimack post wins in NEIBL play

Here’s Tuesday’s local results in the New England Independent Baseball League:

AMHERST 9,

NASHUA 3

The Sabers got their first win of the year over their longtime rival, the Chiefs.

Bobby Henline led the way offensively with three hits while Brandon Dufour, Dylan Dufour, Sean Brennan and Brady Mason all had key RBI doubles.

Dylan Dufour got the win on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out seven. Joe Gutierrez also pitched well in relief.

Amherst has its home opener vs. St. Thomas on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at Souhegan High School

MERRIMACK 4,

CONCORD 1

Ryan Williams tossed a complete game , striking out six and allowing just an unearned run.

Offensively, Merrimack got two hits and an RBI each from Aidan Ponder and Dylan Brander
