Crowd at the top of State Junior Am Golf standings

CONCORD – There is a crowd atop the leaderboard at the New Hampshire Junior Amateur Golf Championship through two rounds.

Wednesday morning, a total of eight players sit within four shots of the lead as the players tee it up for the third and final round at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

North Conway CC’s Ben Dougherty, Laconia CC’s Evan Rollins and Atkinson CC’s Jack Pepin sit locked at 148, four-over par for the tournament.

First-round leader Mat Gover, also of Atkinson, sits alone in fourth at 149.

From there, the tournament takes an extreme local turn.

Amherst Country Club’s Gunnar Senator fired a 77 on Tuesday, making it a two-day total of 150. His clubmate and Derryfield High School teammate Colin McCaigue of Brookline carded a 75 in Round 2 and is right there in the chase at 151.

Not to be overlooked, Nashua Country Club’s Bryce Zimmerman is at 152, after his 77 on Tuesday.

One other are player, who reached the 16-player championship flight on Wednesday is Nashua CC’s Russell Hamel, who is tied for 12th at 156.
