MAY 20, 1975 – “The Milford High diamondmen defeated defeated Alvirne High 4-2 yesterday led by John French, who recorded his fifth win in six starts on the mound.

“Milford put together a big first inning, scoring three of its four runs early. French and James Bird started things of with back-to-back singles, then went to second and third on steals. Mark Prestipino singled to drive in French and an error at the plate allowed Bird to score. Prestipino advance to third on the error and later scored himself when Bill VonIderstine reached on an error.”

MAY 20, 1990 – “The third annual 10-kilometer Diet Pepsi Road Race in Nashua on Saturday morning wasn’t a race at all. It was one man, among a cast of more than a thousand, breaking away early and challenging only himself and the clock the rest of the way.

“John Doherty, a native of Leeds, England, but most recently from Milford, broke his own state 10-kilometer record with a time of 28 minutes, 43 seconds, and won the race by well over a minute.”

MAY 20, 2016 – “D.J. Incropera went the distance, allowing one run on four hits and two walks, while striking out five to pitch Bishop Guertin to a 5-1 win over Pinkerton Academy in Derry.

Bishop Guertin (6-9) was led offensively by Jake McMaster (2 for 4, two RBIs, steal), Mike Griffin (2 for 3, run, steal) and Alex George (RBI double, run, steal).”

MAY 20, 2019 – “The Hollis Brookline Cavaliers remain undefeated, defeating Merrimack 17-7 on Sunday. Both teams traded a goal early on, with the game in a stalemate until Hollis Brookline reeled off four goals in the first quarter’s final two minutes, with midfielder Joe McDonough connecting on the last goal of that string with just three seconds left before the quarter’s end. Jon Kroposki rattled off another Hollis Brookline goal a minute and change into second quarter, giving him his third of the day to that point.
