NASHUA – Six Nashua area champions were crowned in the 52nd Annual Nashua Lodge of Elks 720 Hoop Shoot recently at the Elm Street Middle School Gym.

Those six winners will advance to the NH Elks State Association Hoop Shoot Southwest District Championship on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Spaulding High School in Rochester at 9:30 a.m.

The six champions are: Leah Rose, Girls 8-9; Byron Medina, Boys 8-9; Brianna Cutter, Girls 10-11; Myles McGuire, Boys 10-11; Erica Merrill, Girls 12-13; and Owen Bennett, Boys 12-13.

Runner ups in the event were: Grace Jennette (Girls 8-9); Bentley Columb (Boys 8-9); Marybelle Dyer (Girls 10-11); Lucas Rousseau (Boys 10-11); Brady O’Neil (Boys 12-13).

The top scorers on the day were Owen Bennett with 19 free throws and Leah Rose with 16.
