Lexi McGuire was a perfect 25 of 25 in winning the Elks Hoop Shoot Regionals and earning a ticket to this past weekend’s National Finals in Chicago.

Unfortunately that magic was transfered from McGuire to Wheeling, West Va.’s Morgan Miehle in the Nationals. Miehle sank 25 of 25 to capture the national title for the Girls 12-13 Age Division.

McGuire ended up hitting 17 of 25, finishing a distance behind Miehle, who won the Getty Powell Award as the highest scoring girl overall in all age divisions.

Miehle edged out Sheridan, Wyoming’s Maggie Brogdon, who hit 24 of 25.

Still, McGuire, a seventh grader at Fairgrounds Middle School, was the first New Hampshire girls champion to make it out of the regionals to the National Finals since 2023.
