Merrimack wrestlers post wins

The Merrimack Youth Wrestling Program took home five medals while competing in the recently-held annual PJ Sora Tournament in Londonderry.

The top three in each respective bracket were awarded medals.

Second graders Daxton Solivan and Kaleb Watt represented Merrimack, NH in the K-2 division.

Matthew Snavely and Bennett Meehan, grade 3 competed strongly with Meehan taking home a first place medal.

The fifth grade cohort was represented by Luke Egan, Sara Snavely and Cash Torres.

Torres had one win by pin and one win by points capturing second place on the podium.

Sixth grader Leland Eaton was third in a three-man round robin.

Rhys Dewar, grade 7, had one win by pin and one by points taking home second place medal.

Eighth grader Jackson Meehan pinned his way through to take first place.

HOOP SHOOT DISTRICTS

Local winners in the 2021 Nashua Hoop Shoot are scheduled to compete at the New Hampshire Elks Hoop Shoot District level contest next Saturday, Jan. 8 in Portsmouth, at The Community Campus.

The following locals are competing:

Age 8-9 Girls, Bela Girouard; age 12-13 Girls, Max Walsh; age 8-9 Boys Lucas Rousseau; age 10-11 Boys, Owen Bennett; age 12-13 Boys, Owen Forcier.
