Locals shine at Elks Soccer Shoot

Three Nashua area youths had great success at the recent New Hampshire Elks State Soccer Shoot Championship in Dover.

Aria Harshal-Patil of Nashua won the state Girls U8 Soccer Shoot Championship, ringing up 31 points.

Zoe Sullivan of Nashua won the New Hampshire Girls U14 grid championship scoring 40 points.

Meanwhile, Ryan Mamos of Nashua is the NH Boys U14 State Runner-up scoring 44 points.

New Hampshire winners will advance to the Elks Regional 1 Soccer Shoot in Auburn, Mass. in November.

Before that competition, seven area youths won their respective age divisions at the 20th Annual Elks Greater Nashua Soccer Shoot held last month at the Main Dunstable Soccer Fields in Nashua.

Seven-year old Aria Patil of Nashua won the U8 Girls Division with 19 points, while 7 year-old Olivia Porter was runner-up with 11 points.

Zoe Sullivan, 12, of Nashua won the U14 Girls Grid with 32 points, and 5-year old Arthur Pegas of Hudson won the U7 Boys with 15 points.

Also, Nashua’s Owen Binnis, age 8, won the U10 Division with eight points and 10year-old Damien Rodrigues of Nashua won the U12 Division with 40 points.

Ryan Mamos, 12, of Nashua won the U14 Division with 51 points while14-year-old Roan Herbert of Nashua won the U16 Division with 43 points.

All Nashua Lodge of Elks 720 Soccer Shoot Champions were eligible to compete in the NH Elks State Championship.

FOOTBALL

NASHUA PAL FORCE TEAMS WIN

It was another great week on the field for Nashua PAL Force. The 9U team won their controlled scrimmage against Seacoast, while 10U defeated Derry 25-6.

The 11U squad lost to Derry, 14-0, but the 12U team crushed Pelham 26-6 and the 13U team defeated Windham for a second time this season by a score of

25-6.

It appears several Nashua teams, by virtue of these wins, will make the

playoffs.

NPF 9U

Pal Force 9U took the win from the Seacoast team in a controlled

scrimmage.

The defense of Tobias Burtsell, Ezra Mitchell, Seamus King, Colton Richard, Hunter Kerner, Jeremy Garcia, Jaxson Santiago, Adam Collier, Ben Maccini, Donn Mann, and Boden Pearson, stopped the Titans on their first possession. Jordan Perez and Levi Dabney assisted with key tackles along with Boden Pearson’s huge interception returned 30 yards for a touchdown. Nashua’s offense of Anthony Lazo, Colton Richard, Jordan Perez, Davis Johnson, Boden Pearson, Adam Collier, Levi Dabney, Gabriel Silva, Cayden Raye, Carter Queenen, Kameron Lewis, and Donn Mann, had another great game with a 60-yard touchdown run by Lewis, and went 3 for 3 on the extra point conversion attempts by Adam Collier and Lewis, who also had a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Special teams also stepped up with a momentum boosting kickoff return for another touchdown for the Force, whose playoff hopes are still alive.

NPF 10U

It was a tough start for the Nashua Pal 10U team going against the Derry Demons, with a scoreless first half, but it recovered for its fourth win of the season.

Both teams had strong defense, as coming out of halftime Nashua’s Cameron Silva had a very strong sack and continued to show his strength on the offensive line. Jace Gallego had huge three touchdowns – one receiving and two rushing. Xavier Maldonado also had a rushing touchdown.

Also for Nashua, Leo Defosses had an onside recovery and an amazing interception. One of the best plays of the day was a TD pass thrown by Luke Graven to a wide open Gallego.

NPF 12U

The undermanned Force dressed 17 players at Pelham, with Adamze Mansaray, Connor Page, Bishop Kearns, and Logan Wheeler unable to suit up but looking to return soon.

Jordan Toribio again highlighted the Force with four scores, a 75-yard scamper off left tackle behind lead blocks of Kelvin Sanchez, Shawn Burrus and Trevor Drouin.

After the Razorbacks drove down to tie the game 6-6, Toribio took the ensuing kickoff, went left, read a block, cut right, made a series of Razorbacks miss and took it to the house to put the Force up 13-6 at the half.

Jordan added two more scores to help seal the victory. Tyson Hoang added a key block downfield on one of the TDs, and Hoang also contributed with some key tackles and a couple of receptions of passes thrown by QB Dharyus Sisay, including an extra point.

Josiah Spleen recorded a key sack while Kelvin Sanchez, Nick Acevedo, Burrus, Ashton Carrion, Sebastian Simoneau, Diones Delacruz and Levi Mitchell played well up front defensively.

Paul O’Brien, Vincent Valenta, Jayden McInnis rotated in and out to give the undermanned Force as much depth and rest as possible.

O’Brien also pinned the Razorbacks back deep with a booming kickoff in the 4th quarter. Tayten Metallic made some key stops on defense and ran hard on offense. Kayden Geddes was again a strong presence on defense.

The 5-1 Force next host the NH Junior Wildcats Sunday at Stellos Stadium.

NPF 13U

Nashua had its second win against Windham Sunday afternoon with impressive plays in both halves.

The offense was strong in the first half with touchdowns by Jedwin Lluveres and Kobe Perry.

Perry also had rwo interceptions the 1st half. Jayden Beaulieau had one interception.

Defense came out strong with three sacks by middle linebacker Jack Krulikowski and two sacks by defensive end Nick Wilkinson.

Second-half quarterback Jayden Beaulieau made an impressive 22-yard pass to Connor Johnston for a TD, while Perry added the extra point.

A key defensive play was a fumble recovery from Ian Leonardi, while Perry added another touchdown near game’s end.
