Kids Sports for June 12-13

The Nashua Cal Ripken baseball season is wrapping up its regular season this week with playoffs starting next week.

Here are some recent results:

AAA

ROYALS 13

ATHLETICS 4

Aaron Ackerman pitched two solid innings, collected two hits,a walk and scored three runs to lead the Royals at Jackson Field.

Ben Sterner smoked a triple to center while also playing solid defense at shortstop.

Kayden Abreau pitched two solid innings for the As, including three strikeouts.

NATIONALS 10

GIANTS 7

The Giants started off strong in the first inning with a big hit from Own Torosian and bats were hot.

The Nationals came back with an inside the park home run with two on by Travis Bean and eventually pulled ahead.

Both teams fought hard with great pitching by Mia Johnston and Dylan Frink.

ROYALS 10

NATIONALS 6

The Royals were led by Krish Suresh, who laced a bases clearing double in the first, as well as hits by Monica Rush and Tre Natoli and Brendan Butler’s three runs.

The Nationals’ Isaiah Pimental made a spectacular overhead catch in the third that wowed the big crowd.

MAJORS

PHILLIES 17

RED SOX 7

The Phillies beat the Sox with hits from Will McKenney, Brooke Berger, Cooper Vaillancourt, and Jesse Sakellarios and runs from Brady Wessel, Patrick LeMay, and Rick Nunez.

The Red Sox had runs from Jace Dillon, Isiah Hidalgo and a two-hit performance from Daymien Roy.
