Kids Sports for Sept. 27

Here are recent Nashua Cal Ripken Baseball results:

AAA

ROCKIES 10, TIGERS 7

Cole Brandt and Aaron Ackerman pitched outstanding for the Tigers and went toe to toe with the Rockies pitching staff led by William Osborn and Marcus Conti. The Rockies broke open a tie game with five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Marcus Conti scored three times for the Rockies.

DIAMONDBACKS 10, PIRATES 5

The Diamondbacks offense was led by Elias Gonzalez (3 for 3, three runs), Gates Kelly, Luke Graven and Niko Stefiuk (each with two hits). Gav Whigham, Karthik Ramesh and Hunter Sullivan led the offense for the Pirates (one hit each), backed by solid pitching from Will Stanley and Aaron Cullinane.

ROCKIES 12, ATHLETICS 3

Leo Liberatore, Ethan DiMeo, Connor Denley, Tyler Marcelli and Owen Torosian combined to pitch for the Athletics.

The Rockies scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back. Mike Hammond and Connor Hudson pitched for the Rockies for the first time this season.

PIRATES 9, TIGERS 8

The Pirates’ Dom Maffei had a walk off single, driving in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

For the Tigers, Andrew Butler and Cole Brandt threw three strong innings each and added two hits each including a home run for Brandt.

The Pirates were led by Karthik Ramesh reaching base all four times with a hit and two runs scored.

ROCKIES 8, NATIONALS 1

Nationals pitchers Zach Henderson and Phil Louis held the Rockies to one run heading into the fourth inning. Isaiah Hidalgo scored the lone run for the Nats.

The Rockies broke out in the fourth with a fivespot with big hits from Will Osborn and Chris Labrecque. Sean Deschenes walked twice and scored twice.

MAJORS

PHILLIES 12, WHITE SOX 11

The Phillies enjoyed a walkoff hit by Sam Kobs, plating two after Patrick LeMay shut the door with two scoreless frames.

Their offense was led by Jack Razz (two runs), LeMay (three runs), and Colton Vreeland’s two hits.

The Sox were paced by Andrew Thibeault (three runs) and Nolan Sullivan’s two runs and stellar defense.

RED SOX 6, WHITE SOX 3

Josh Alvarez had two hits and scored twice, AJ Holmes homered and Michael Witkowski threw five strong innings to lead the Red Sox. Witkowski, Alvarez, Taylor Joyal and Sammy Woodward also drove in runs.

Woodward worked out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth for the save.

RED SOX 17, ROYALS 3

Josh Alvarez and A.J. Holmes both hit grand slams to pace the Red Sox offense. Joyal added a two-run single and Sam Levine had two hits.

Also for the winners, Witkowski scored 4 runs while Jacoby Caissie added three and Jace Dillon scored twice.

Holmes struck out all six batters he faced in two innings on mound.

RED SOX 13, PHILLIES 3

Josh Alvarez homered with three RBIs, RBI, while Ian Blake and Holmes added two hits to pace the Red Sox offense. Witkowski threw two perfect innings, while going 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBIs. Woodward scored twice and Logan Coleman added an RBI for the Sox.

RED SOX 11, ATHLETICS 0

Jacoby Caissie, Holmes and Witkowski pitched a combined no-hitter for the Red Sox.

Caissie added four hits, while Witkowski tripled with three RBIs and Holmes added a double and three RBIs. Josh Alvarez scored three times, Ian Blake had two hits and Sam Woodward tripled to pace the Sox offense.

SILVER KNIGHTS HOSTING

FALL BASEBALL ACADEMY

The Nashua Silver Knights are holding their first ever Fall Baseball Academy at Holman Stadium.

It includes weekly skills days and field days, with the remaining dates a few days during the weeks of Sept. 28-Oct. 2 and Oct. 5-9.

The Skills Clincis, open to boys and girls ages 6 and up, will be run by Silver Knights alumni.

The Field Days, also open to youths ages 6 and up, will be an exercise-oriented event with games including, but not limited to, basketball, kick ball, and wiffle ball.
