Here are some recent results of the Nashua Cal Ripken League, which goes into early October:

AAA

DIAMONDBACKS 6

ATHLETICS 2

The D’Backs offense was led by A.J. Sekula (single, walk and two runs) and Gabe Gotham (RBI) and was backed by strong pitching from Elias Gonzalez and Mason Townsend.

Jaimer Estevez-Mejia and Ethan DiMeo each had a hit for the A’s and Tyler Marcelli pitched four strong innings, backed by solid defense.

ANGELS 10

ATHLETICS 4

The Angels received outstanding pitching from Cameron Warshafsky and Lennon Willett in the win.

The Athletics were led by Ben Sterner scoring a run and hitting a big double.

ROCKIES 3

D’BACKS 2

The Rockies’ Leo Desfosses and Mike Hammond played outstanding defense and Marcus Conti and Brady Wessel combined to pitch six innings giving up only two runs.

Miles Demers and Gates Kelly combined to pitch six innings of outstanding baseball for the Diamondbacks, giving up only three runs.

ROCKIES 4

PIRATES 2

Dom Maffei, Gavin Whigham and Aaron Cullinane combined to allow only four runs for the Pirates, while Hunter Sullivan had a stolen base and a run as well.

For the Rockies, Marcus Conti pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up only two runs and Ricky Nunez scored twice.

MAJORS

RED SOX 18

PHILLIES 1

Taylor Joyal had three hits, three RBIs and scored three runs while allowing one hit and one run on the mound to lead the Sox.

A.J. Holmes homered with five RBIs and Jace Dillon added two RBIs. Josh Alvarez, Jacoby Caissie, Michael Witkowski, Sam Woodward and Kelvin Agyeman each scored two runs.

RED SOX 11

WHITE SOX 2

Sam Levine had two hits, Josh Alvarez scored three runs and Daymien Roy scored twice to pace the Sox.

Sox pithcer Michael Witkowski gave up two runs over four innings while driving in two runs at the plate. Logan Coleman also pitched well in relief.

Nolan Sullivan homered for the White Sox.

ATHLETICS 7

PHILLIES 5

Cole Patno led the offensive attack for the Athletics with two hits, including a two-run home run.

Also, Andrew Croteau pitched five solid innings and Braedon Maziarz made a game changing catch in right field.

The Phillies received solid pitching from Brooke Berger and were paced offensively by Charlie Patterson.

RED SOX 11

ATHLETICS 1

Holmes had two doubles and two RBIs while, Michael Witkowski added three RBIs and Jacoby Caissie threw five strong innings for the Sox.

Alvarez made the defensive play of the game, throwing out a runner at the plate from centerfield.

Owen Forcier pitched well and added an RBI single for the A’s.

SILVER KNIGHTS TO HOST

FALL BASEBALL ACADEMY

The Nashua Silver Knights will be holding their first ever Fall Baseball Academy at Holman Stadium.

It includes weekly skills days and field days, with the dates a few days during the weeks of Sept. 14-18, Sept. 21-25, Sept. 28-Oct. 2 and Oct. 5-9.

The Skills Clincis, open to boys and girls ages 6 and up, will be run by Silver Knights alumni.

The Field Days, also open to youths ages 6 and up, will be an exercise-oriented event with games including, but not limited to, basketball, kick ball, and wiffle ball.
