Kids Sports for July 19

Here’s the latest results from the New Hampshire Prospects baseball program, which includes several locals at the youth level:

NH BOBCATS 10,

11U PROSPECTS 2

Nolan Sullivan hit his first career home run, while Andrew Thibeault and Cam Flanders added the other hits for the Prospects.

NH BOBCATS 15,

11U PROSPECTS 3

Cooper Vaillancourt, Harrison Joshi and Owen Forcier had big hits. Thibeault had two stolen bases and Zach Jones made a big defensive play in right.

16U Jr. SWAMP BATS 11,

15U PROSPECTS 1

Nick Shaw and Cam Brown pitched well against a good hitting team. Dante Nieto and Cam Brown provided the offense for the locals.

16U Jr. SWAMP BATS 9,

15U PROSPECTS 4

Colin Toohey had another great outing on the mound with six striketouts and six earned runs allowed through 5.2 innings. The offense was provided by Dean Adams, Dante Nieto, Cam Brown, Caleb Rich, and Nick Shaw.

10U PROSPECTS 10,

BEDFORD BLACKFLIES 2

The Prospects jumped to an early 4-0 lead in the first with a RBI triple from Matthew Bergin (2 for 3, RBI, two runs) and an RBI double from Connor Gryniewicz (1 for 2, two RBIs, two runs). Additional offensive support came from Jordan Morrelli who was 3 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs, and Max Demers, who scored twice.

The Prospects also benefited from starting pitcher Jace Dillon, who pitched four innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. Gryniewicz pitched a 1-2-3 fifth, striking out two.

10U PROSPECTS 11,

BEDFORD BLACKFLIES 1

The Prospects took another early 4-0 first inning lead and would never look back. Most of the damage was done in a five-run, five-hit third inning with doubles from Matthew Howie (1 for 3, two RBIs, three runs), Max Demers (2 for 3, RBI, run), and Jordyn Rodriguez (2 for 2, two RBIs, two runs). The Prospects also got singles from Jordan Morelli (hit, RBI, two runs) and Brayden Ouellet (one hit, one run).

Howie pitched three strong innings allowing just two hits and an unearned run while striking out three. Demers pitched a scoreless fourth, striking out two.

12 U PROSPECTS ROYAL

The Prospects (8-2 overall, 5-2 EBL) have secured the top seed in the Londonderry tournament, and swept the Swamp Bats out in Swanzey with convincing victories.

AJ Holmes, Ryan Martin, Joe Mayo, and Ryan Mainey all have had very strong starts in the rotation.

Pual Gehan, Zach Retey, and Sahil Mujawar each went yard in the LAFA tournament to seal the wins.

BULLETIN BOARD

Nashua Cal Ripken practices, etc. are underway at all levels with games to begin in early August, the season lasting until early October.
