Nashua Babe Ruth 15s win district title

The Nashua 15-year-old Babe Ruth All Star team finished a sweep of District Pool A to the title on Monday with a 7-4 win over host Goffstown.

Goffstown took a quick 3-1 lead, but Nashua’s six-run fourth inning proved decisive.

Nashua pitcher Cam Nixon went six innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, walking four and striking out five. Reliever Jack Gauthier nailed down the win allowing one hit with one strikeout.

Goffstown pitchers were Eric LeFave, Riley Belleau and Sebastian Beal. They combined to give up 12 Nashua hits, walking three and striking out three.

Goffstown hitting was led by LeFave (two singles and a double) and Beal (double and single).

For Nashua, Gauthier and Jacob Hughes each had two hits while Seth Marcan, Nixon, Joe Berman, Spencer Dozois, Tim McMeniman and Trevor Kelly all had hits for Nashua.

Nashua finished the tournament 4-0 and will start the state tournament in Goffstown at 2:30 p.m. Friday against the winner of Thursday’s game betweenLamprey River and Twin Rivers.

Goffstown finished the tournament 2-2 and will open in the states Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Somersworth.
