Nashua Elks soccer champs on to regionals
Four Greater Nashua Elks Soccer champions have moved on regional competition.
Joey Morse age 13; his sister, Carly Morse, age 11; 13-year-old Olivia Kriask, all of Nashua and eight-year-old Lilly Rumhill of Litchfield all won their respective age divisions in the New Hampshire Elks State Soccer championships last weekend in Portsmouth.
They will advance to the Area 1 Regional Elks Soccer Shoot in Windsor, Conn., Nov. 6-8. This is the final level of the Elks Soccer Shoot program.
Morse kicked 45 points to the iwn the Boys U-14 Grid championship. It was the highest score in any of the Grid Divisions, and he was later presented with the "Golden Boot" Award for his feat.
Kriask won the Girls U-14 Grid title with 41 points, while Morse won the U-12 Girls Grid title with 40 points.
Rumhill had 40 points to win the Girls U-10 5-Goal title with 40 points, the highest in any of the 5-Goal competitions, also winning a "Golden Boot" award.
The other state winners included Gianna Bovell of Claremont (U-8 Girls), Thomas Dunlap of Rochester (U-8 Boys), Mason Hill of Keene (U-10 Boys) and Ben Baroni of Portsmouth (U-12 Boys).
