NE Edge 3, Melrose 2

The Edge used three goals from three different lines to improve to 5-3 in the Valley Hockey League.

Melrose actually jumped out to an early 1-0 lead scoring just 90-seconds into the game.

However, the Edge quickly responded as Matty Ryanscored to tie the game four minutes later on assists from Ryan MckeanandBraedon Dubis.

Shortly after, Tyler Girouardscored to give the Edge a 2-1 lead on an assist from Kenzley Goode.

With under a minute remaining in the first period Melrose tied the game 2-2, and it stayed that way until 3:20 remaining in the third when the Edge’s Alex Bartoshevichnetted the game-winner, assisted by Chase McBride.

In the Edge goal, Riley Pelletier stopped15 of 17 shots to earn the win.

Upfront, Isaac Kastner, Bryce Larcoand Ryan Rheaumewere impressive having several scoring chances.

Defensively, Chris Czado, Nicholas Dias, Cullen O’Malley, Brady Pelletierand Dubis were immense in limiting Melrose’s scoring chances.

The Edge faces Tewksbury on Sunday at Conway Arena at 9:50 a.m.
