The Souhegan Valley Storm U14 softball team has been playing in the World Series in Newberry, Fla. The team opened up play with two wins, beating Creeks (Fla.) 6-3 and Winter Park (Fla.) 4-1.

SVS dropped its third game, 9-8, to Ocala Marion County (Fla.) but bounced back to beat Fairdale (Ky.) 4-3. The Storm then dropped its next two, fall­ing to Gainesville (Fla.), 14- 0, and to Santa Fe (Fla.), 7-6.

Team members include Lauren Basta, Meredith Basta, Hannah Cronin, Kylie Dimond, Whitney Fitzgerald, Ashley Hum­phreys, Abby LeBlanc, Maddy Lucontoni, Abi Ma­cLatchy, Megan McLaugh­lin, Alex Meader, Emily Moll, Abby Sites and Rhe­anna Wilson. Coaches are Steve Dimond, Doug Moll, Colin Wilson and Beth Fitzgerald.
