The Souhegan Valley Storm 14U Babe Ruth All-Star softball team has earned a spot in the soft­ball World Series with a runner-up finish in the New England Region­al Tournament this past weekend in Plymouth.

The World Series tournament is scheduled for July 29-Aug. 5 in Newberry, Fla. To gain a spot in the championship game, the Storm beat the eastern Massachu­setts State Champions from Rayn­ham, Mass., 12-3.

The Storm roster is consists of Milford’s Lauren Basta, Meredith Basta and Abby Sites; Bedford’s Hannah Cronin, Kylie Dimond, Whitney Fitzgerald, Maddy Lucontoni and Emily Moll; Amherst’s Abi MacLatchy and Rheanna Wilson; Brookline’s Megan McLaughlin; Mont Vernon’s Alex Meader; and Wilton-Lyndeborough’s Ashley Humphreys and Abby LeBlanc. The team is coached by Steve Dimond, Doug Moll, Colin Wilson and Beth Fitzgerald.
