Led by the 18-point effort of Trevor Labrecque, the St. Christopher boys Mites Green team beat St. Thomas 41-20 New Hampshire Catholic Schools Tournament semifinals.

Spencer Labrecque (seven points), Danny Dockrill (six), Riley Hansen (four) and Danny Klevisha, Keegan Murphy, Bobby Canaway (two each) helped out.

In the girls tournament, the Mites lost to Presentation of Mary in the first round, 36-22, despite leading by four at halftime.

Ana Stawasz and Ava Therrien led St. Chris with eight points each while Amelia Piercy, Ava Soucy and Aliya Lewis each contributed a basket. Julia Gadbois, Cameron Iaquinta and Claire LaPlante rebounded well while Emily Dowling and Zarina Nicholas played well defensively.

Adam Gosselin scored 12 points and Luis Ortiz 10 to lead the Cougars to the win. Kaiden Gianitsis led the Sonics with 10 points while Jahlen Buckmire and Parsley Laleau added four each.

Cougars 39, Braves 23

Adam Gosselin, Luis Oriz, and Avian Carrillo all scored six points to lead the way for the Cougars. Sid Shah, Lou Ortiz, and Matt Brackett added four each.

Nasir Perry was the game’s high scorer with eight points while Rory Curran added seven for the Braves.

Luis Vargas led the winners with 11 while Dean Adams added nine. The Bulldogs also got huge baskets down the stretch from Eli Meesig and Ian Mack.

NSG Level 5 wins Frostbite title

Nashua School of Gymnastics Levels 4-10 competed recently at the Frostbite Invite in Biddeford, Maine, with the Level 5 team taking first place with a team score of 107.70.

NSA’s C4 Baseball tryouts

The Nashua Sports Academy C4 Baseball U11 and U13 teams will hold tryouts on Feb. 21 from 1:30-3 p.m. (registration at 1:15) at the program’s facility at 90 Northwest Blvd. in Nashua.

Players for the U11 team must be 11-years-old by May 1, 2015. The team will play doubleheaders on Sundays. The U13 players must be 13-years-old by May 1, 2015. It will be a long season format, with doubleheaders on Saturdays and Sundays from April to early August.

Nashua Soccer Registration

The Nashua Youth Soccer League registration is open until March 23, open to boys and girls in Nashua and surrounding towns born between Oct. 1, 1995 and Sept. 30, 2009. Registrations received by March 23 will be guaranteed placement on a team. Registrations received after that date may be wait listed.

The Northeast Junior High Football League (NJHFL) is currently accepting new members for the 2015 season.

The NJHFL offers three distinct levels of football and cheerleading for those athletes in grades two through eight. The league also holds its own cheer competition that is open both to league members and non-members.

The NJHFL has 13 organizations, representing 29 teams from southern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts. Currently, over 900 players

and close to 700 cheerleaders participate in the league annually.

Nashua Baseball Academy

The Nashua Baseball Academy is currently having group training at the Hollis Training Facility, 265 Proctor Hill Road.

There is currently group training for ages 12 and under and ages 13 and older. The group meets twice a week for one-and-a-half hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks and the focus is proper hitting, conditioning and throwing mechanics in a team-like setting

The New Hampshire Knights have openings on their 13U AAU team. Ages are determined on May 1st 2015. Last year this team finished third overall in the New England Regionals.
