Hollis Brookline Middle School topped Windham, 10-5, an d Amherst, 5-4, recently to win the Division II Tri-County baseball championship.

In the semis, Kaito Kramarczyk pitched five solid innings striking out eight. Joe Messina pitched the last two innings and preserved the win.

HBMS finished its impressive 11-2 season vs. Amherst as Joe Brown pitched six strong innings giving up 10 hits and three runs, striking out five.

Kramarczyk came in to close the game in the seventh, giving up a homer but retiring the last two hitters to presever the win.

Brown had a two-out RBI double in the first and later added another RBI hit.

HBMS played strong defensively all season.

YOUTH BASEBALL

Diamond Devils advance

Led by the pitching of Keegan Mills, Matt Thibault and Mason Matylewski, the New Hampshire 12U AAU Diamond Devils won their playoff pool in Auburn, Mass. by defeating the host Cental Mass Cubs 2-1, the NE Wolfpac 8-3 and the Conneticut Storm 8-3.

The offensive contributors were Mills, Matylewski, Liam Scanlon and Chase Nickerson.

Defensively the Devils were sparked my Brian Ascani and Nate Sartell.

The Devils have reached the final four of New England and will face the Titans Baseball Club in bracket play, just two wins away from the New England title.

Other members of the Diamond Devils are Anthony Forgione, Justin Broussard, Zaki Quereshy and Joe Cottle.

NASHUA CAL RIPKEN BASEBALL

Red Sox 5, Cardinals 4

In a Majors contest, Sam Powers led the Red Sox with five strong innings on the mound and two hits. Drevin Richard pitched three innings and contributed the game winning hit, in the bottom of the eighth. Sean Quinlan and Dylan Nolet both had two hits a piece for the Cardinals.

Tigers 6, Orioles 5

Bobby Canaway smashed a drive to left to score Dylan Dichard and Colin Emmons, providing the difference for the Tigers. Eddy Gaffny had a big hit for the Orioles.

Giants 18, Rockies 1

Leo Kopicko held the Rockies silent at the plate in the middle innings, striking out six and only allowing one hit by Dylan Gagnon while the Giants were able to add runs on a pair of hits by Cameron Miele and another by Kopicko.

Pirates 11, Rangers 1

Colin Holbrook escaped some control problems on the mound and got some key hits as the Pirates advanced in the AAA playoffs.

Astros 8, Orioles 3

The Astros advanced with a second round AAA win as well, as Brian Mericantante pitched two big scoreless innings and Brady Sullivan had three hits and three RBIs.

Sam McElliott led the charge for the Orioles with a two-run inside the park homer.

A’s 15, Giants 12

The A’s advanced in the Majors playoffs as Zach Rioux went 4 for 4 with two runs, Jake Smith 3 for 3 with 2 runs, and Nathan Chisholm 3 for 4 with two runs. Jacob Langenfeld pitched two innings for the save. Chris Keefe (3 for 4, three runs) and Spencer Champagne (3 for 4, two runs) led the Giants. Giant Josh Lentz also homered and had three hits.

Diamondbacks 4

Hector Rodriguez singled in Mason Matylewski with the game-winner. Matylewski, who also homered, pitched two strong innings as well.

Royals 2, Cardinals 1

Jimmy Reel, who reached on an error, scored the game-winner on a wild pitch in a Majors playoff game. Sean Quinlan pitched a complete game four-hitter for the Cards.

Pirates 13, Nationals 3

The Pirates advanced in the AAA playoffs as Caleb Rich, Colin Holbrook and Brandon Metivier led the offense. Josh Lentine had a big three-run double for the Nationals.

Astros 8, Dodgers 6

Brian Mericantante and Joe Hitzman (two RBIs apiece led the Astros, who took advantage of 16 walks. The hitting attack for the Dodgers was led by Ryan Haskell, Alex Swisher, David Mullaney, Brady Swisher and Abi Gonzalez.

A’s 13, Tigers 3

The A’s advanced in the AAA playoffs as Harrison Spalthoff, who had a key, base-clearing triple, tossed four innings of one-run ball. Owen Kelly had three RBIs for the Tigers.

Giants 11

Alex Ortiz had a grand slam and Charlie Collins a three-run shot, his first of the year, to lead the D-Backs. Rory Curran and Issac Zhang also had four hits each for the winners. For the Giants, Peter Bauer had a big three-run homer.

Angels 5, Red Sox 4

Keegan Mills’ RBI single provided the difference as the Angels battled back from a 3-1 deficit. Mills and Anthony Forgione pitched well while Sean Hagberg had two hits with two runs scored. Chase Nickerson pitched two strong innings for the Sox and had two hits.

Phillies 9, Athletics 4

The Phillies got some offensive power from Josh Bailey who hit his first home run ever, and Tyler Armeen, who went 2 for 2 with a base-clearing triple. Nate Chisolm went 3 for 3 for the A’s.

Rockies 13, Cardinals 9

Zack Hureau and Peter Wilson pitched two innings each for the winners, while Braeden Welch lasted three innings on the mound for the Cards.

A’s 7, Phillies 1

Brandon Yan pitched five innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out four with one walk while making several key defensive play.Leo Kopicko had a hit in his first major league at bat for the Phillies.

Cardinals 10, Red Sox 8

Dante Young( 2 for 3, three runs scored), Tim Eaton (2 for 3, two runs, two RBIs) and Corey O’Day ( 2for 3, two runs, an RBI) led the Cardinals.

Travis Holbrook (1 for 3, a run), Drevin Richard (2 for 3, an RBI, two runs) and Tyler Griffin (RBI double) paced the Sox attack.

Diamondbacks 5

The Royals’ Colton Welch stayed hot with striking out five of the six batters he faced and also going 3 for 3 with a double and a run scored. The Diamondbacks pitching of Alex Ortiz and Kevin Hayes only surrendered one run over the last five innings.

Dodgers 10, Rockies 8

The Dodgers rallied with a Ryan Haskell three-run HR in the bottom of the fifth. Defensively Nick Dahl made a great catch for the Rockies, Peter Wilson had a standout inning on the mound in the 3rd for the Rockies.

Rangers 7, Athletics 1

Mackenzie Tanner’s RBI single paced the Rangers. Ranger pitchers Grace Cardin and Joey Deck combined for eight strikeouts, two walks and allowed one run .Henry Grabowski and Griffin Davis had big hits for the Athletics.

Red Sox 10, Royals 9

The hot hitting Royals were shut down through five innings by Red Sox ace Chase Nickerson, who also had two hits, including a homer, and scored three times. Drevin Richard had two hits and two runs for the Sox. The Royals were led by Colton Welch (two hits, three runs) and Chris Paluzzi (two hits).

Leading the D’backs offensive surge was Gavin Belesca with a 2 for 3 effort.

The Giants’ Braden McDonnell scored the tying run after leading off with a sharp single. Spencer Champagne scored the winning run after a seven pitch at bat for the walk off win. Leading the D’backs offensive surge was Gavin Belesca with a 2 for 3 effort.

Anthony Infante’s homer paced the winners.Dylan Dichard and Owen Kelly (two run double) led the Tigers.

LACROSSE

Nashua Blast U-13 White

Nashua Blast U-13 White (McIntire) topped Hopkinton, 10-6, but fell to Weare, 10-9 in OT.

Kaylie Keegan gave Blast the early lead against Hopkinton with an assist from Kirsten McIntire. McIntire then had another assist with a pass to Taylor Guilfoil. After Hopkinton scored two, Blast came back to take a good lead in the second half with the McIntire to Keegan move again. Guilfoil then assisted Keegan for her third score.

With no delay, the McIntire/Keegan duo set the score to 5-2 and giving Keegan four out of the five goals scored. Calley Goulet joined the attack force with an assist to Guilfoil. Olivia Howley, Anyssa Mitchell, Ida Gnanou and Bella Primeau manned the attack end. . The second half showed strong defensive moves from Olivia Kingston, Theresa Ellison, Madison Sewade, Grace Wilson and Nicole Yeaton while Middies Bailey Morin and Britney Pearson played excellent defense.

Cara Leiklider, Sophie Searles and Emily Morneau worked both ends as well as Pearson assisted McInitire. McInitire quickly relayed the ball to Goulet for her to get her second shot as well. Payson Mooso played well in goal with seven saves, two of which were penalty shots.

The Blast fell behind Weare, 8-2, before making it a game.

Morneau made a great pass to McIntire allowing the Blast to get on the board. Kaylie Keegan assisted Sarah Signorello for the Blast’s second goal.

Guilfoil started the second half scoring unassisted followed by Bailey Morin doing the same.

Britney Pearson had a nice pass to Keegan for another goal and Ida Gnanou scored on a penalty shot.

Emily Colburn’s speed allowed her to move the ball quickly to Signorello, which Morin doing the same for Guilfoil. Middies Cara Leiklider and Sophia Searles moved the ball from the defensive end to offense. Keegan had an unassisted goal to tie the game late, 9-9.

In overtime, Mooso (12 saves, five on penalty shots) blocked one penalty shot but Weare scored on another.

Blast U11 Girls

top Goffstown

In a 10-4 Blast win, Goffstown struck first scoring off the opening draw just 15 seconds into the first half.

Nashua responded 1:30 later on a goal by Olivia Johnson, assisted by Julia Cote. The Blast would strike again a minute after that on a goal by Kiley O’Brien, assisted by Johnson.

Grace Bellavance found the back of the net unassisted at the 9:00 mark of the first half giving the Blast a 3-1 lead.

Goffstown would score a minute later to cut the lead to 3-2. The Blast would score the final three goals of the half as Bree Cooley scored unassisted, followed by Liv Hlebichuk, assisted by O’Brien and finally Lindsay Hult, assisted by O’Brien for a 6-2 halftime lead.

Johnson scored the first goal of the second half, assisted by Cooley and the Blast never looked back. Cote scored next, assisted by Bellavance. Hlebichuk added another score, assisted by Cote and then notched her third goal, unassisted with just under six minutes to play. Halee Mele made four saves in goal while playing well defensively were Julia Mendes Elinor Addonizio. Caitlyn Harrington, Iruka Obinelo, Lillia Szewczyk, Hannah Martin, and Charlotte Moloney.

Swim Camp

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua is hosting a Summer Swim Camp for swimmers ages 6 to 19 from June 2 until August 3.

Practices are held Monday-Thursday nights.

Swimmers must be able to perform freestyle and backstroke in the following distances in order to participate: 6-8, 25 yards; 9-12, 50 yards; 13 and older, 100 yards. All swimmers must become Boys & Girls Club members.
