Nashua Elks Crusaders Flag Football

The Nashua Elks Crusaders came out strong in their first game against the Monadnock Mountaineers. Gus Smiley scored a touchdown on the first play of the game. The Mountaineers followed up with their first touchdown, before Colvin Levesque, Dan Byrne, Andrew Byrne, and Alex pieced together a drive with long runs, resulting in a second touchdown by Smiley.

Landon Levesque and Petrillo kept the Mountaineers’ offense in check, sparked by Camden Cummings, Moe L’Heureux, and Sebastian Simoneau.

Soccer

World Cup Soccer Clubof Greater Nashua

In the Aztecs Labor Day Tournament, the boys U13 World Cup Red team won its division by defeating Mass Premier Soccer Cavaliers 1-0.

The boys U12 World Cup White team were finalists in its division, losing 2-1 in the final against the Western United Pioneers White team.

In the Labor Day GPS Milan Cup Tournament, the girls U12 World Cup made it to the finals of their first 11-on-11 tournament. It went 3-0 in pool play, not allowing a goal.

In week 1 of the Fall League, the boys U12 World Cup Red team took a 4-0 win against Strikers United. Goals were scored by Liam Baldwin (two) of Hollis, Andres Ramos of Merrimack, and Emanuel Orozco of Nashua.

Ryan Coutu of Brookline earned the shutout in goal.

The girls U10 World Cup Red team defeated Kings FC.

The girls U12 World Cup posted a shutout win in the Maple’s top division.

Baseball

AAU tryouts

The New Hampshire Diamond Devils and the New Hampshire Knights AAU Baseball Clubs have completed their tryouts and are still looking for athletes to fill out roster spots for ages 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U.

The clubs offer a fall program, extensive winter training and a 25 to 30 game spring and summer schedule.

Each team will attend a travel tournament.

The 12U program is the Southern NH All Stars and will compete at Cooperstown, N..Y for a national championship in the
summer of 2014.

Each team works with local programs so as not to compete and make athletes choose between teams. Fees are all inclusive with no additional charges.

Most games are played in the Nashua area

Basketball

CYO tryouts

The Immaculate Conception CYO basketball program has scheduled tryouts for Sept. 17, 18, 20, 24, 25 and 27 at Nashua Catholic Junior High School.

Girls tryouts for grades 5 and 6 are set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Tuesday, Sept. 24. Boys tryouts for grades 5 and 6 are set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 25. Tryouts for grades 3 and 4 are set for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 27.

Girls in grades 7 and 8 can tryout Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 8:30 p.m. Boys in grades 7 and 8 can tryout at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 27.

Boys in grades 9-12 can tryout at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 25.
