Nashua 12’s win

The Nashua 12-year-old Cal Ripken All Stars began its regional tourney Saturday in New Milford, Conn., with a 5-4 victory over New Bedford. Mass.

Tony Gallinaro led Nashua by reaching base in all three at bats with two hits and a walk, scoring three runs and stealing four bases. Brendon Auriana pitched five innings, allowing five hits and walking one.

Jack Gauthier worked the last inning retired New Bedford in order.

Zach Finkelstein had two hits for Nashua, Stephen McLendon had one hit and scored two runs, and Chris Haley and Cam Nixon each had hits.

Nashua next plays Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
