The Nashua U-9 Cal Ripken All Star Team defeated Claremont on Tuesday to win the Cal Ripken Western District championship. Nashua won,15-3, with 17 hits in just three innings as the game ended under the mercy rule.

Nashua held a 2-1 lead with two outs in the bottom of the second when before seven straight hits built a 9-1 advantage. Claremont responded with two runs but Nashua scored six in the bottom of the third

Alex Hulfacher pitched two innings and allowed one run Drevin Richards worked two innings to end it.

Richards, Issac Zhang and Jacob Langenfeld each went 3 for 3. Cody Rocheleau and Ryan Somers were 2 for 3.

Nashua was undefeated in four tourney games and moves on to the state championship as the as a No. 1 seed. Nashua will face Dover in Londonderry on Saturday
