Nashua 12’s in regionals

Thursday night the Nashua 12-year-old All-Stars produced just two hits but scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out a 4-3 victory over Dover, gaining them a spot in the regional tournament starting next week.

Jack Gauthier pitched four innings and allowed two runs on four hits. Zach Finkelstein worked the last two innings, giving up a run on two hits.

With Dover leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Gauthier was hit in the head by a pitch.

Pinch runner Andre Laplante drew a wild pick-off throw and took second, stole third and scored on Cam Nixon’s fielder’s choice ground ball, with Nixon reaching on the throw to the plate.

Nixon took second on a passed ball pass ball and Tanner Plourde came in to pinch run, stealing third.

After a walk to Andrew Penkala, Chris Haley a hard shot to second with the infield playing in, scoring Plourde.

Nashua to the regional tournament starting Friday in New Milford, Conn.
