PAL dinner set for Thursday
Renowned sports journalist, TV personality and author, Dan Shaughnessy will headline the second Nashua Police Athletic League Award Dinner on June 27 at Conway Arena.
Shaughnessy will be named PAL’s Man of the Year. The event, which runs from 6-9 p.m., also will recognize local sports journalists, PAL athletes, volunteers and coaches. Organizers hope the evening will be a significant fundraiser for PAL, which provides coaching and mentors local youth athletes.
Local journalists of the year awards will be presented for print and broadcast.
PAL will recognize youth athletes of the year in football, boxing, cross country and cheerleading. A PAL coach of the year and volunteer of the year will also be named.
Auction items up for bids will include three tickets to the Red Sox game against the Baltimore Orioles on Aug. 28, donated by comedian Mike O’Malley; four tickets to a Red Sox game (details to follow) and four tickets to the Jason Aldean“Night Train Tour”, July 13 at Fenway Park.
Also, there will be a silent auction item, a framedTom Brady picture, with Super Bowl champion tickets.
Tickets remain on sale and are $75 apiece or $500 for a table of eight and can be purchased at Conway Arena or by phone at 603-595-2400.
