Nashua Blast U13 falls

The Nashua Blast U13 girls played a tough game against the ladies in red from Chester/Derry. Playing in Derry, the home team posted a 9-4 win April 21.

Co-captain Hannah Fortin, while feeling under the weather, she still won the majority of the face-offs and scored a goal in the second half. Emma Pucillo shared the draw with Fortin and scored two goals in the first half, one assisted by Grace Lambert on a nice pass, and another in the second half. Alyssa DeCarteret notched her first goal for 2013 in the first half.

Playing a nice offensive game and retrieving many ground balls were Gwyn Hartley, co-caption Julia Gagnon, and newcomer Ida Gnanou. Making their way up and down the field most of the day with little substitutions at offensive mid-field were Liz Harrington and Lucci O’Keefe.

Defensive middies Campbell Haller, Molly Caron, and Julia Sullivan ran the entire day and aided defenders Izzy Bolduc, Jocelyn Theriault, Mikayla Breslin and Kateri Coffey with keeping Chester/Derry at bay. Sullivan has a standout day defensively covering the red team intensely. The Blast’s regular goalie, Abbey Rowe, again had a great day with over a dozen saves in net.
