Nashua Blast U11 (Hlebichuk) 7, Oyster River 4

The Nashua Blast U11 girls team B had its first game of the season April 14 at Stellos Stadium. The team, led by coach Korey Hlebichuk, defeated Oyster River.

Kiley O’Brien got the scoring started for the Blast as they played an aggressive offensive game in the first half. A goal by Julia Cote, another by O’Brien built the lead to 3-1 at halftime. Cote scored again to make it 4-1 early in the second half. Two more goals by O’Brien pushed the lead to 6-1.

Oyster River showed some resiliency scoring three goals in the second half before a late goal by Julia Mendes sealed the win for the Blast. Playing well in goal was Lauren Grondin. Elise Mikailov, Bree Cooley and Liv Hlebichuk also played well for the Blast.

Londonderry 10, Nashua Blast U11 (Hlebichuk) 5

The Nashua Blast U11 team B played its second game of the season April 21, losing to Londonderry. Julia Cote led the Blast offensively scoring four goals in the first half. Helping to get the ball into the offensive end were Kiley O’Brien, Liv Hlebichuk, Abbey Adascik, and Kendall Marandos.

The Blast trailed 5-4 as the second half started. Londonderry played tough defense the rest of the way and held the Blast to just one goal, scored by Cote. Holding their own on the defensive end were Grace Conrad, Halee Mele, Hannah Martin, Sophia Searles and Elinor Addonizio. Lauren Grondin played both halves in goal and made a couple of great saves.

The young Blast team faces Laconia on Sunday at Stellos Stadium at 2:15.
