The Nashua PAL Force football program invites the Nashua players living in the North district to register for their upcoming season, which will start at the end of July. If not living in the North District, the Nashua Elks Crusaders will be holding their registration at the same time.

On Saturday April 13 from 9–11 a.m., Nashua PAL Force will be holding registration at Elm Street Middle School. After the gym doors open, everyone will be greeted by one of the many volunteers then directed to a table to confirm the school district they are a part of or to one of the registration tables to finalize the process.

“City league sports give an individual pride in their city,” Nashua North football coach Jason Robie said. “They learn to represent where they come from and can be proud of their efforts.”

Robie believes that youth getting involved in city sports teaches work ethic, teamwork and sportsmanship.

“Putting the name of your city across your chest is a large responsibility,” he said. “As a youngster it is your first taste of civic pride and also gives you a chance to be a part of something”

Nashua PAL Force football ages range from grades 2-8, including players who turn age 6 before Dec. 31 and do not turn 15 before Dec. 31.

Spirit ages are 5-18 years old. This is the first year Nashua PAL is offering an 18 year old team for participants who don’t turn 18 before July 30.

“Kids thrive in environments where they are encouraged and supported,” said Kalin Hamilton, Spirit coach for Nashua PAL Force since 2007. “PAL does an exceptional job at this.”

The Nashua PAL Force has won a total of 25 state, regional and national titles since being founded in 2004. With the help of parents, coaches and other volunteers, NPF has become one of the most successful leagues in Nashua.

While promoting healthy and educational living, Nashua PAL Force is also eliminating delinquent behavior in the Youth of Nashua by keeping kids active in sports and off the streets.

“All activities are directed at helping positive development of young people,” said Jim McLaughlin, President of the NPF board of directors.

If too old to participate in football or cheer, Nashua PAL Force is always looking for volunteers that are willing to donate their time while making a difference in the lives of the athletes and their families. If interested in volunteering feel free to stop by the registration on April 13.

“The help of community volunteers to provide youngsters with proper guidance, life skills, and opportunities,” said McLaughlin. “Will give them a better chance at a successful life.”

“Kids build friendships with athletes, coaches, and even teammates’ parents that are life long,” Hamilton said. “I keep coming back just so that I can remain part of it all.”
