JUNIOR MITES (3rd/4th grade)

Coed: St. Chris White 24, Presentation of Mary Academy 14

St. Chris Green Jr. Mites won their first playoff game against Presentation of Mary Academy at St. Joseph’s on Sunday. St. Chris led 8-6 at the half, but then opened it up with a strong second half performance. Michael Popik (10), Aidan Dufoe (eight), Sam Dufoe (four) and Daniel Klevish (two) led the St. Chris offense.

MITES (5th/6th grade)

Girls New Hampshire CYO Tournament

First round: St. Chris Combined 36, St. Mary-Dover 12

In a team comprised of players from both St. Chris girls teams, the lady Huskies came out on top against St. Mary-Dover in first round action of the state CYO tournament. Lizzie Croke (12), Peyton Ryan (eight) and Rita Dow (six) led St. Chris.

Semifinal round: St. Chris Combined 23, Villa Goffstown 19

St. Chris had their work cut out for them against the tough team from Villa Goffstown in what would be the most exciting game of the season for St. Chris. Villa led the entire game and was up 14-9 at the end of the third quarter, but St. Chris applied pressure full court and dug deep to come up with a go ahead basket by Krysta Mack (five) and two key baskets by Rita Dow to seal the win for St. Chris.

Finals: St. Chris Combined 40, St. Catherine 31

The game was close the entire time with St. Chris up by only three points at the end of the third quarter, but St. Chris pushed ahead with 10 points in the fourth quarter behind the awesome defense of Grace Wilson. Lizzie Croke led all scorers with 16, Krysta Mack and Peyton Ryan each had eight, Jennifer Marino had six points and Grace Wilson contributed two of her own to secure the St. Chris girls a ticket to Regionals on April 6 in Boston.

Girls: St. Anthony 14, St. Chris Green 6

The St. Chris girls Green team played their last and best game of the season on Sunday, but came up just a bit short against the skilled St. Anthony squad. Grace Wilson (two) and Nicole Yeaton were tremendous defensively, while Kristen Coumas (two) did a stellar job holding St. Anthony’s high scorer to only four points. Kirsten McIntire contributed two points for St. Chris, and Brianna Defelice, Sophia Lathram and Ritika Chaudharry were awesome on the boards securing both offensive and defensive rebounds for the Huskies.

Boys: Infant Jesus 40, St. Chris White 17

St. Chris lost to Infant Jesus in the opening round of the DeCosta Tournament on Sunday. St. Chris opened with impressive defense and hauled in a good number of rebounds, but fell short in converting fast break opportunities against a talented Infant Jesus squad. Leading scorers for St. Chris were Jackson Lewis (six) and Alex Karski (four).

Boys: St. Chris Green 42, Presentation of Mary Academy 8

The St. Chris Green boys Mite team advances to the Deanery Tournament semifinals with a convincing victory over Presentation of Mary Academy. Matt Thibeault (eight) led the St. Chris offense, followed by Joseph Noon and Davis Camacho, each with six points.

CADETS (7th/8th grade)

Boys: St. John Neumann 49, St. Chris 45

In a battle of the top two teams in the cadet division, St. John Neumann came from behind in the last minute to defeat St. Chris. Tommy Ethier led an early first half charge to put St. Chris up before St. John Neumann battled back to take a 24-19 lead at the half. St. Chris rallied in the second half to erase the deficit and went ahead late in the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer by Patrick McCarthy that put St. Chris up by four. The lead slipped away in the final seconds.
